Use of social media buttons with “Shariff”

We use the c’t project “Shariff” on our website. “Shariff” replaces the usual share buttons of the social media and hence protects the surf behavior.

“Shariff” integrates these share buttons of the social media merely as a graphic element on our website, which contains a Link to the corresponding social network. By clicking on the corresponding graphics, you are transferred to the services of the respective networks. The Shariff button establishes a direct contact between the social media and our visitors only if the visitor clicks actively on the share button. Only then the data are transferred to the respective social network. However, if the Shariff button is not clicked, there is no exchange between you and the social media. Further information about the c’t project “Shariff” can be found on

We integrate the following social media with “Shariff” into our website:

  • Facebook Inc. (1601 S. California Ave – Palo Alto – CA 94304 – USA)
